Borderline (borderline.world) is a free daily geography game played on a 3D globe. Every player in the world gets the same five countries each day — tap them on an unlabelled globe in three tries or fewer, share the spoiler-free emoji scoreline, and see what percentage of that day's players you beat. Beyond the daily, a spaced-repetition Learn the World mode schedules every country by how well you know it and paints your personal mastery map onto the globe itself. No account, no ads, no install — it runs in the browser, works offline as a PWA, and player data never leaves the device.

Background
- Built as a love letter to the daily-puzzle genre: one shared puzzle, a spoiler-free emoji share grid, and zero friction — no signup, no paywall.
- The globe is rendered from scratch on a canvas (D3 orthographic projection, two levels of map detail, custom inertia/zoom) — no game engine, no framework.
- The Learn mode uses a Leitner-style spaced-repetition ladder: countries you miss return within minutes; countries you nail wait days, then weeks.
- Anonymous daily percentiles are computed from a ~100-integer histogram per day — the entire backend state for a day fits in a tweet.
